Chicago, IL & various US locations - In a
consulting relationship dating back to 1994, SAKO has helped BlueCross
BlueShield (BCBS) of Illinois’ parent company, Health Care
Service Corporation (HCSC), establish security standards and guidelines
for their corporate headquarters. To date, SAKO has assisted in
the design, bidding and implementation of security measures at more
than 32 HCSC sites and helped to launch a cultural change in security
operations.
Our latest project involved the upgrade of the BlueCross BlueShield
closed circuit television system to Digital Video Recorders (DVR)
technology. SAKO security consultants sourced and evaluated manufacturers
of the DVRs in the development of a seamless DVR system that spans
Illinois, Texas and New Mexico. We also worked closely with the
company’s security, IT and facilities department to coordinate
pre-design activities, test and deploy the new 350 – CCTV
camera system at all 22 BlueCross BlueShield facilities.

This state-of-the-art surveillance system enables
BCBS security staff members to view live and recorded video at any
location over the BCBS backbone network. It also provides a real-time
view of a facility. This is particularly important when command
center staff must respond to after-hours alarms at any BCBS location.
